About the National Center

The National Center for Advanced Payments and Identity Security is located in Crystal City, Virginia just outside of Washington D.C. The facility was established by the Secure Technology Alliance to provide a permanent, high-end facility for in-person training and educational events to help industry stakeholders better secure payments and identity. The National Center provides an ideal venue for workshops, courses, briefings and symposiums for the Secure Technology Alliance and its 200-plus member companies as well as other industry stakeholders. At the National Center’s hands-on interactive lab, ongoing training and certification testing programs help educate new generations of payment and identity professionals.

The CSCIP/Government training includes the same fundamentals as the CSCIP certification, but its body of industry knowledge includes in-depth content about the U.S. government’s implementation of the Federal identity management infrastructure and smart card-based employee and contractor identity credentials that resulted from Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). The CSCIP/G certification does not cover payments usage models.

Recertification is a means for CSEIP-certified individuals to enhance the value of the certification by demonstrating that they have maintained the knowledge of the original certification and are current with new requirements and changes in the technology of E-PACS systems. The CSEIP certification itself is awarded by the Smart Card Alliance to individuals who complete the three day, comprehensive CSEIP training class and pass the hands-on practical test and written exam.
